Method
Step 1
In a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl placed over a pot of simmering water, melt together the coconut oil and shea butter.
Step 2
Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the baking soda and arrowroot powder or corn starch until well combined.
Step 3
Add the MCT oil and essential oils (if using) to the mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
Step 4
Carefully pour the mixture into clean, sterilised deodorant containers or a small glass jar.
Step 5
Allow the deodorant to cool and solidify at room temperature or in the refrigerator for faster setting.
Step 6
Once solidified, use as you would any other deodorant by applying a small amount to clean, dry underarms.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp of Shea Butter
- 2 tbsp of Baking Soda
- 2 tbsp of Arrowroot Powder or Corn starch
- 2 tbsp of MCT Oil
- Optional: 10-15 drops of essential oils for fragrance (such as tea tree oil, lavender oil, or peppermint oil)
