Ditch the sugary sports drinks! This Citrus Berry Electrolyte Drink is a delicious alternative, perfect for keeping your kids hydrated. Made with natural ingredients like coconut water for potassium and a pinch of salt to restore sodium, it's a replenishing hit.

This recipe works for kids of any age, but if yours are over 12 and you want to speed things up a bit, swap out the stevia and salt for half a sachet of our ElectroTide in your favourite flavour.

Ingredients

  • 500ml still or sparkling water
  • 500ml coconut water
  • 2 tbsp honey or 1/8 tsp pure stevia
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt or Celtic sea salt
  • 75g strawberries or blueberries
  • Juice of 1 small orange or half a lemon

Method

Step 1

Place the berries and coconut water in a blender and blend until smooth. If you prefer a smooth drink, strain through a fine sieve; otherwise, keep the pulp for fibre and flavour.

Step 2

Pour the berry-coconut mix into a large jug. Add the cold water, honey (or stevia), and salt.

Step 3

Squeeze in the orange or lemon juice and stir well until honey and salt are completely dissolved. If using stevia, stir until evenly distributed – it dissolves quickly.

Step 4

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or add ice cubes.

Step 5

Top with sparkling or still water and serve.
