MCT Oil Exfoliant

MCT Oil Exfoliant

Preparation Time | 10 mins

Benefits of Homemade Body Exfoliant with MCT Oil:

  • Exfoliating: The granulated sugar acts as a natural exfoliant, helping to slough off dead skin cells and reveal smoother, softer skin underneath.
  • Moisturising: MCT oil and coconut oil provide deep hydration to the skin, leaving it feeling nourished and moisturised after exfoliation.
  • Lightweight: MCT oil has a lightweight texture that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, making it ideal for use in body exfoliants.
  • Customisable: You can customise the fragrance and therapeutic benefits of your homemade body exfoliant by choosing different essential oils that suit your preferences and skin's needs.
  • Cost-effective: Making your own body exfoliant at home can be more cost-effective than purchasing commercial exfoliating products, especially if you buy the ingredients in bulk. Plus, you have the added benefit of knowing exactly what's going into your skincare products.

Method

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, MCT oil, and coconut oil (if using).

Step 2

Stir the ingredients together until well mixed and the sugar is evenly coated with the oils.

Step 3

If desired, add the essential oils to the mixture and stir until well incorporated.

Step 4

Transfer the homemade body exfoliant to a clean, airtight container, such as a glass jar, for storage.

Step 5

To use, apply a small amount of the body exfoliant to damp skin and gently massage in circular motions, focusing on rough or dry areas such as elbows, knees, and heels.
